Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

Please keep the message boards open. They are the biggest reason I log onto IMDB. If they go, I know I won't be using your site as much. As I'm sure goes for thousands of other people too.

the imdb message boards are essential. Letting the trolls win is absurd! telling people their only avenue for communication about shared film/tv/actor interests are facebook or twitter is a most unfortunate message. IMDB - you MUST reconsider!

I don't understand why you are doing this. Without the boards I don't use the site.

Please don't take this away from us :( It's such a valuable resource for so many people like myself, and since there is no other options or even a remotely adequate replacement, we will be lost... Sincerely, A very sad, long time user.

Please don't shut down the message boards. I enjoy reading them, and putting in my input.

I will truly miss the boards. Please let us share insightful movie facts and theories with one another. It will not happen on any other platform and you all know this. If thwy are to go, thank you for always providing an outlet for people to share their opinion on films.

Disgraceful decision, obviously made only to tell your users to STFU and just swallow whatever garbage Hwood gives us. You should be ashamed. Well...you'll also be unemployed when the site craters in 6 months or less. No one will be coming here w/o the boards, LOL!!!!

Part of my movie watching ritual is going away.

There's no incentive to go to IMDb if the message boards are shut down.

The IMDB boards are an integral part of my online discussion with others about tv shows I watch every week. Please keep it going. Without it, I won't have somewhere to do this and I won't have a reason to go to IMDB. :/

What? I go to IMDB after seeing an interesting movie for exactly two reasons: 1) the Trivia and 2) the Message Board! I can see wild theories, speculation, and rambling from years ago to right now, revive old threads with new ideas, and commiserate about the bad movies I love to hate. I don't post often, but I read very often. There's nowhere else you can get this kind of focused-topic discussion with a long history and a (so I thought) long future to come. And no, facebook or twitter are not proper replacements—they're general, have a terrible SNR, and are either echo chambers or just as 'bad' troll-wise. Improve the boards, maybe—better moderation, a nicer interface, whatever, but getting rid of them is an awful decision.

It makes absolutely no sense to remove the boards. I come to IMDB to read the boards!!!

The first thing I do after watching a movie is go to IMDB to check out the message boards. Reading other movie lovers' theories and opinions add to my experience and I know I'm not alone with this. It would be a huge loss if it was taken away from the community.

Please keep the message boards.
