Short-sighted to get rid of the message boards. Surprised business people such as Amazon don't understand that the recommendations of fellow users in the community drive movie rentals/sales on Amazon.com.

Can't believe the boards will be gone. As a genuine movie lover and holder of an IMDb account and regular visitor of the boards since the end of the previous century I now feel like an orphan. Please keep it alive.

Please keep the boards! I always enjoy going to read them after seeing any especially good movies! Very interesting to read like minded (or not) peoples opinions on a movie scene, storyline, etc!

The IMDB message boards have been one of my fave online haunts for many years now. I am deeply saddened by the idea of them being taken away so suddenly.

I've been using IMDB for the last 10 years (mainly for the message boards) once that goes, I go. I visit those boards to see what people's opinions are regarding various movies/tv shows. It sucks that IMDB are allowing the trolls to win by removing the message boards altogether. If trolling is so bad on the boards they should get volunteers to moderate the boards instead, allow the community to keep the community clean. Don't kill off the message boards!

The only reason i goto IMDB is to read the comments about films that i think i might want to watch. Do not let this site go the way of GeoCities.

At least 70% of my activity on IMDB for the past 16 years has been perusing message boards and occasionally engaging in positive discussion with other users. I very likely would have very little reason to visit the site once the boards have been removed.

The ability to discuss plot points on specific films on a film-specific message board with other fans is one of the key features of IMDB. Most adults are capable of ignoring trolls; know they come with the territory; and can value the decent content.

The message boards are THE MOST VALUABLE part of IMDB. I always log in to get insights to details of a movie that I did not understand, especially science fiction, my favorite genre. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE MESSAGE BOARDS!
