shutting down the IMDB message boards is a very bad decision. Long used to trolls online at all boards (and some can be very amusing). I like to see what others have noted or are thinking about a TV show/movie.

Please don't shut the message boards down! It is the main reason that I visit the site to begin with. Not everyone is a troll, who posts and from what I could see, most people have learned to ignore them. The message boards are always a great place for discussion of movies and tv shows as well as recommendations from others. Please keep the message boards from going away!!

YES! It's easy enough to scroll past the trolls, but the Message Board is essential for a sense of community, for airing of theories, for the "What was that mumbled line?" or "What was the song at the end?" questions. By all means, don't dare dump our Message Boards!

I have been IMDB from the start and it is the ONLY place which I find answers to my questions.
If I do not understand something in a movie or tv show, I KNOW someone else knows the answer.
Please do not take that away from me.

IMDb message boards are the only way I can ask questions about things in movies and TV shows that I don't understand. Their elimination will hugely reduce the usefulness of IMDb. I can't believe this was a decision to benefit anyone but the comptroller; certainly the needs of the users were not considered.

Keep the boards open please! They are an invaluable resource that help make IMDB the awesome site that it is.
Without the boards, IMDB becomes a lonely, empty, impersonal shell.
The amount of information obtained in the boards is invaluable--much of which can't be found on the regular database pages. There is a trove of knowledge and facts buried in the boards and their removal will truly detract from the allure of the site as a whole.

I come to IMDB frequently just to visit the messageboards. If it were not for these, IMDB would be much less helpful to me. My visits to the site would be much less frequent. Please don't do away with them.

This is an invaluable resource for informal discussion of art that many of us value immediately. I for one, would absolutely stop using IMDB if they decide to discontinue the Message Board feature.

This is a huge loss to movie buffs who love and cherish the boards and on-going discussion. Deleting the forums is essentially deleting a large part of IMDb's history, especially for us who enjoy niche genres/movies and cannot find similar platforms elsewhere. Please reconsider the discontinuation of the forums.

I always use the message boards rather than reviews to see if a movie might be worth seeing and then to discuss it afterwards. Will miss this feature hugely.
