I dont write on the boards but i like to read everyone's opinion for most of the movies or series that i watched or want to watch. Please keep it going. The message boards are an important part of imdb and imdb will loose a lot of fans if they close it.

Please keep the message boards going! My favorite part of finishing a movie I've seen is to go to the IMDb message boards and discuss it with others and understand the movie differently and gain insight from others. It's so much more important than it seems.

I've used the IMDb message boards for almost 20 years. They're an amazing resource, a place to engage in dialogue with likeminded fans and sometimes also converse with experts and members of the filmmaking community.

I've been a member for many years and although I've only posted a handful of times I think it is extremely short-sighted to completely dismantle the message board. I've spent countless hours clicking through and reading what others have spent their time discussing so many movies and TV shows. I've always enjoyed spending my time reading through the threads, even those I didn't agree with. Please keep the message boards.

If you take off the message boards you'll be losing more than half of the people that use your site. It's the only reason I use that site for.

I have been going to the IMDB message boards for years, and the site will not be the same without them. Deleting the boards makes absolutely no sense You say you want to "enhance the custom experience", well you have a funny way of doing that. I enjoy the boards, and like reading what people have to say. Why don't you actually try thinking about the consequences of your decision. Closing the boards is extremely bad for business, and is an incredibly stupid thing to do, especially because the boards are such a big part of the site. I mostly go to IMDB for the message boards, and I assume I am not the only one, and now you want to delete them.

Social media doesn't replace these message boards' main function, which is to efficiently discuss details for individual films. Social media posts would only be effective for commenting on headline news that is currently happening. I've looked at your facebook, and if I had a random question about the production of a movie that came out 30 years ago, facebook would be useless.
