Just saw the news! If this was april 1 I would have dismissed it as bad joke.
I have always loved IMDB, but if they do this I hope with all my heart that people will abandon the site so it goes away, and a new moviebase will emerge instead.

Not allowing your users to interact with each other only pushes you away from them. When you remove this well established platform due to it allegedly not being positive, you're enacting a form of censorship. How dare you.

Please do not shut the IMDB boards down. I often check them to see what others opinions are about a movie or TV show, and also check for information about a TV show or movie. The boards are unique and serve as an invaluable source for information and exchange. IMDB's suggestion to discuss movies and television shows on your Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages are not the same as the boards. They are a totally different platform and can not take the place of the boards. Please reconsider. Thank you.

Not everything has to be discussed on the damned social media websites, keep these boards alive because it's a part of what IMDB is.

The boards are 50% of my time on imdb each day and I have learned so much from them. Please don't destroy such a useful tool/service over a few bad apples!

We talk about movies. IMDB is the place to talk about movies... Whats the point of IMDB without the message boards? You take away the joys and the passion of people excited about movies everywhere. Please keep the message boards around.

I have learned more about films from the IMDB message boards than anywhere else in my life.
The message boards are the only reason I use IMDB - they give amazing insights, interpretations and explanations.
What possible reason is there for stopping them?

I've been coming to the IMDB message boards for over 10 years, and while I don't post a lot, it's always enjoyable to read others' views on movies and TV shows. There is really no other site that is as organized, or well-suited for coming together and talking about your favorite actor, show or movie. Facebook and other social media sites do not have the correct format for this and are not a good replacement. Keep the boards alive!
