Message boards on the IMDB site itself concentrates the people that actually want to talk in-depth about movies. This is our only means of communication on the site.

IMDB boards offer an unique service which no other site can do, discussion boards about every movie or tv show in the history of mankind. Social media cannot replace this since social media messages are fleeting. After I watched a movie I always go to IMDB boards and regardless of if the movie is popular,obscure, old or new, there will always be some threads about it.Discussion i wouldnt be able to find if it was on FB.

The message boards have been very vital for me on countless occasions. When I don't fully understand what happened in a film, when I'm wanting to see what others though of a particular event, etc. The are extremely useful and honestly, I wouldn't have a reason to even come onto IMDB without them. It would be a great shame to see them taken down.

Honestly the message boards are my favorite part. I love reading people thoughts and theories on movies and shows. Once the boards are gone there will not be much reason for me to come to this site, I hope IMDB reconsiders doing away with the message boards

are you crazy?? the boards are where we fans get to discuss the details and plot twists of movies we see.....getting rid of the boards in favour of social media sites is a bad mistake...... not all of us have or want facebook or twitter accounts

I love coming to the boards when I find a new show. Where will I go when I have a question and can't find an answer on the show page? I have gotten so much great info and recommendations fro fans on your boards. Whatever your reasons I wish you would reconsider.

I don't post on the board but usually go there to find out stuff about the movie I just watched. Quite often the question(S) that I have have been asked and answered by others already. Without the boards I would definitely spend less time at imdb.

I've used the IMDb Message Board for over a decade now, and would really miss it's absence. While I understand the reason for it's removal, I do wish another course of actiob might be found to keep it up and running. Best Wishes

Without the message boards no good reason to choose IMBD over other sites comes to mind. The message boards are why I come here , not there.

This is one of the best features of this site. When a film or TV show comes out, I always check the message boards to get the real unfltered opinions of people watching. I know I'm not the only one.

The IMDb message boards are the go-to for reviews and finding the opinions of people with movies, tv shows, etc. The message board is a huge part of IMDb and will be deeply missed, more than you know, if it is disabled! Please reconsider and keep the message boards!

The message boards are a HUGE part of my IMDb experience. I check them nearly every time I visit, for nearly every series/movie I want to find extra info on. It is an incredibly good resource for extra knowledge and it's not fair to have it taken away because of what "data and traffic" tells them.

the message boards are being shut down due to not being "useful", yet one glance at facebook shows that the traffic there is virtually non-existent. that would probably be due to the fact that it is completely apples and oranges to compare the two. people use the message boards for info and discussion on a particular show or movie, which isn't an option on fb. shut the boards down, and i'll purposely avoid using imdb, and simply get the same information elsewhere.

The message boards are the main thing I use on IMDB. The ONLY unique thing in my opinion. All other info I can get elsewhere. Of course hateful people and trolls abound but those people are EVERYWHERE! We've learned to navigate around them and have a great place for meaningful discussions. I feel like the reasons IMDB has given are a lot of BS excuses to push there social media pages. Do they really think message board users will migrate over to those pages? Not bloody likely! What's more likely is that they will migrate away from IMDB all together. I know it's a small thing when viewed from a big picture perspective, but I for one am very very sad to see this happen.

Please don't do away with the message boards. This is the main place that fans go to discuss shows, movies and actors. We love the message boards. Why would you want to ruin a good thing?

Sure, the boards can be a mess. But if properly administated or hosted, I get frequently go to the forums.
