Please reconsider the decsion to close the message boards. Without them, serious movie fans will be unable to share useful,opinion.

Whilst I undestand why this difficult decision was taken, I feel it is an error of judgment to close the message boards. The boards enable many of us to share valuable information and opinion. It would be a far grander gesture to deal will trolls and fools by simply blocking them. Three strikes and you're out (excepting in cases of severe abuse, in which case, instant off.

imdb forums have always been the go to place for everything relating to actors and films. They are some of the most active long term forums in the World Wide Web. It seems to be a really foolish idea to kill them off. Please reconsider the decision.

I honestly think that they have made a huge mistake by shutting down their message boards. They are clearly not aware of the fact that they have a very unique and dedicated (movie based) community system in their hands that they are throwing out of the window as if its nothing. Sad.

I've been coming to the IMDb since 2003, and the messageboards have always been informative about certain known, and unknown actors that i found to be attractive, or who did a good job on screen. To see the messageboards removed is absurd. I remember when i first started coming to Imdb, the boards in 2003, there was hardly anyone posting on them. It was like a ghost town. Now they want to take it away, after the fans build it up so much? That's crazy. It's nonsense. It's almost like we're being censored all over the place. Which is what's happening.

I have used IMDB since the beginning, never posted on the boards but I visit frequently to find out info about movies, shows, actors, everything. Just watched a show but don't understand something? Guaranteed to find the answer on the message boards. Loved a movie and want to find something similar? My first port of call is the message boards where someone else has also asked the same question and been provided with post after post of great suggestions. I will be lost without this valuable resource.

The boards are the only real reason to come to IMDb anymore, now that Google lists the cast for productions when you search for the title now.
