Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

Leave them open, hire moderators its a win/win.

I have no use to use IMBD if this feature is removed. Rotten Tomatoes works fine for movie ratings. Cya!

Your decision to discontinue the message boards is both disappointing and misguided. I find the boards one of if not the most useful, informative, and entertaining feature of IMDb. While I will probably still use the site to check showtimes, and indvidual critiques of movies, my experience will be greatly diminished if not an outright negative one. Shame on IMDb!

Incredibly bad decision.

Let's not kid ourselves. It's not about the trolls, it's about shutting people up so you can jam move bad movies down customers throats...

I always read the message boards before watching a movie to get further insight if it is worth watching then I always go back to the board after watching to the movie to help me figure out things I didn't understand. I comprehend as to why you wish to get rid of your message boards but I urge you not to. Thank you for the consideration.

C'mon please leave them up!!!

I always come to imdb after watching a movie, hoping to gain further insight from other people's perspective. I can't imagine being unable to continue doing this.

This decision is terrible. The ability to discuss anything and everything about every film and TV show that exists by conversing with others via message boards is invaluable and a brilliant thing to have. We need to have a way to discuss, debate and learn about the films and shows we watch and hear about, and the IMDB message boards are the best place for that. Despite their issues, the message boards are cherished by millions. Please don't do this.

Your reasons for shutting the message boards are insincere and is a horrible decision for us. It's obviously a $$$ decision somehow that will backfire. You have no idea how much some of us like and use the boards. Shame on whoever made this horrible decision.

Terrible decision to remove the message boards. They are the first place I go when I want to discuss movies. If they go then I have no reason to visit IMDB anymore

This seems a ludicrous decision. Though I rarely post these days, the message boards are the main reason I visit imdb. Very occasionally I may do so to remind myself of an actor's name etc,, but after watching a film or show I love to check on the imdb message boards to see what people are saying about it. I guess if the imdb boards go I'll look at reddit or something. One thing is for certain though and that is that I'll visit imdb a lot less, There are still posts on there that I wrote thirteen years ago when I was 16. Fascinating to be able to see what I thought back then (though embarrassing). Shame.

The very FIRST thing I do when interested in a movie is go to your IMDb website and check the message boards. It will be a shame if u remove the boards from ur site. And tbh, there won't be much reason to research on IMDb if you don't have the viewers opinions. What's the point without it being interactive? Please reconsider!
