IMDB messageboards are the only place on the internet where prople can have intelligent in-depth discussions about movies. Removing them is a catastrophic idea. It doesn't make any sense!

I've been on IMDB for twenty years and removing its most distinctive feature will earn the dumbest thing on the internet distinction from me.

The main reason I come to IMDB is to read the message boards. I love hearing what everyone else is thinking and add it to my own. Some of the movies I love have dedicated posters with really interesting insights. I am so incredibly depressed at this latest attempt to disconnect us. Please keep the boards going. We are adults who can deal with the negative trolls. We don't need you to babysit us!

Stop falling for the crybabies and the trolls. Keep the boards open. Everyone has the right of writing whatever they want, we the people choose what to read or not.

I checked many film database sites, and stayed with IMDB so long mainly because of message boards that aren't (weren't) so good and interesting anywhere else. Now what would be the point of even visiting IMDB? Without real people discussing movies and TV, IMDB will become just a better looking wikipedia clone.

Going to the message boards is a choice ... until you eliminate them ... please don't treat your customers like children ... easily, 90% of my iMDb traffic is to discuss or ask a question about a film on the boards

I've been a member of IMDb for 6 years, almost 7. The main reason I decided to sign was because I wanted to get involved and participate in the discussions about movies, share my experiences as a spectator and learn from others. Ridiculous decision of the IMDb. If they think the boards are becoming a little bit negative, they should MODERATE it instead of CLOSING it. This only shows how little the IMDb cares about their users and their experience in the forums. Sad to see this happening,.
