I don't do social media but really enjoying talking with others on the IMDB boards.
It is an egregious choice to remove the boards. Like: no more communication between IMDB lovers?
I'll be visiting the website less if it happens...which means less revenue for IMDB. :-(

The message boards contain more information than any one will ever be able to create in any one place. Elderly folk use the message boards to reminisce about the golden age of Hollywood and all that information will be lost forever. There are intricate details about many items/subjects that specialists have imparted for the benefit of others. To top that where will we go when we don't quite understand how a movie has ended, by directors that like to keep you guessing long after the movie has finished.

Getting rid of the message boards is such a bad idea. The message boards hold so much more value than almost all the rest of the data on IMDB! It allows for the actual discussion of said films, but also provides insights that are just not available anywhere else. IMDB has, over the years, become the ONLY source of movie information I needed! The THREE things I use on there are... Trivia, Actor information, and MESSAGE BOARDS! Even though I do not log in and post often, I do use them for just about any movie I look up, and now that you are deciding to do away with them, I am both highly disappointed (that you are letting some trolls win), and I am hoping that someone else will now take it upon themselves to come up with a new alternative to IMDB, as I for one would leave IMDB for a second over this! PLEASE reconsider your decision on this, and keep the message boards active!

I always like to see what people are saying and discussing, I don't see why that is not being considered as a vital part of IMBD, it certainly is. Even more importantly, I don't have twitter or other things that are listed as "a way to communicate", those are social networks used for promotion, this is as clean, private, fast, informative and practical as it gets.

The boards are the one feature I immediately visit after (and most of the times, before) watching and rating one of the movies listed. I think they're more than worth saving.

I have been a member of IMDB for years. The message boards are not only my favorite feature of the site, but one of the sole reasons I come to IMDB. Without the message boards, I really have no reason to continue visiting the site.

Please let the boards stay up, We can control any trolls by having moderators. The discussion boards are a great way to interact with other movie buffs on opinions, theories, and keeping up with current events in the film industries

The IMDB messageboards are unique place on the internet where those who want not only to passively watch movies but also to have intelligent detailed discussions about them with other cinephiles worldwide. For them, the decision to do away with this part of IMDB is a disaster.

Oh mr Needham.
Please don't take away this great asset from us movielovers.
If you fear for the general visitors sanity, due to sporadic trolling on the messageboards.
I am sure a general triggerwarning on entering, will warn, and save these countless of poor victims, from devastating words from these trollmonsters.

I read the message boards every time I watch a movie to gain insight and clarity on the movie. It adds so much to my viewing experience. I will miss the Message Boards greatly and hope you will reconsider removing them.
