Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

A sad decision to close the boards. There are others way to keep the idiots from the board.! Hope you'll change your mind!

It genuinely saddens me to hear the closure of the message boards being announced. I have been using the boards for many years and cannot think of another outlet that lets you discuss intricacies and obscurities every film. There is not a single corner of the internet that goes unaffected by trolls; it's something you have to accept if you use the Internet. Please don't let this ruin IMDb.

This was the place if you wanted to indulge your erotomania in a more elaborate way than Twitter.

These message board are hugely helpful and give IMDB an edge.

I only visit the site to read the message boards. Wont ever visit again after theyre deleted.

IMDB is making a resounding mistake. I like many visitors that frequent your site, primarily come for the message boards to see what other viewers think about any given tv show, movie or actors/actresses. The engaged discussion (good, bad, indifferent) is part of the bigger watercooler discussion we all want to have when it comes to pop culture moments. Count me in with the others who will not be visiting your site as nearly as often

If people don't like the trolls, they can just avoid the forums. Some of us love them, and throwing away a 27 year old service to capitulate to the overly sensitive seems like cowardice.

I've been using IMDb since 2005 with over 1,000 movies clocked in. It would be a sin to delete a database of debate. You must be crazy to delete something that millions of people use everyday. All you need is moderators and a simple system to down vote or delete irrelevant messages. It should be voluntary basis like wikipedia or any other forum out there to monitor and filter out the junk. What as waste of millions of man hours of great insightful talk. Many of whom are probably not here with us anymore along with those who may have worked directly in the industry.

Keep the message boards! Don't let a handful of people who apparently complain about "mean comments" deprive everyone else from a useful and enjoyable part of your site!

I am for free speech so i am also for the message board. never have seen a similar decision.

Please don't toss message board. Many folks use it to read articles that users post. Also to get opinions and theories posted by others. This is an important medium.

The message board is a valuable source of information and opinions. The trolls are few and far between, and are easily ignored.

There are a lot of people who doesn't afraid of trolls. Please don't tell us you do it for our good. IMDB message boards is a unique useful and unexchangeable resource.
