Don't close the message boards. They are the sites best feature and the only reason I visit this site every day.

The message boards are vital because they provide a SINGLE UNIQUE place to exchange information -- and particularly to find answers to questions -- about any movie or TV program. None of IMDB's social media sites does this. The message boards are important to everyone in the World who has a serious interest in cinema and TV. Destroying them would be similar to Google's destruction of Usenet and its decades of information by turning it into a "social medium" where "friends" are the most important thing. Some people still THINK, and what's important to us is MEANINGFUL INFORMATION. Please do not contribute to the dumbing-down of humanity by destroying the Message Boards.

Don't get rid of the imdb messageboards. It's not rightat all to take away the ability from movie fans to talk to each other about movies and individual movies on individual imdb movie message boards even when conversations between people get a little heated. Thanks.

Im so disappointed that I will never be able to read other peoples opinions and incites about movies. Often I will watch a movie and have my own theories THEN I hit IMDb to see what others think. I know this feature is really going to be missed by me and lessen my viewing pleasure! PLEASE KEEP IT or open a sister site !

What can be said that hasn't already been said. The message boards are the essence of IMDB, they are the lure, they ARE the traffic to your site.
Disabling them would foolishly go against the technological evolution of communication. You'd just take a giant leap backwards.

Please do not delete the message boards! At least keep what is there available. or charge for 'Pro' if they want to post. Terrible to think IMDB could do this...

I'd be more than happy to pay for IMDB Pro in order to access the msg baords. Otherwise, there is zero purpose for me to log in again.

I love reading other peoples thoughts about the movie. The forums are mostly an intellectual forum for discussion about the movie, the ending, goofs, acting, interpretations etc. Moving to social media is a pathetic excuse, I am not able to just bring up a movie after watching it, then read about everyones interpretation via twitter or Facebook.

Please do not disable the IMDB message boards. I love reading people's comments and I have had hundreds of my own questions answered here. I ignore and/or block the trolls. I get a lot more positive out of these boards than negatives. Please reconsider this decision. Thank you.
