These boards has been my friend for literally half of my life, and I am 26 now. Mostly a reader and not a poster but PLEASE don't get rid of these boards. It is my go-to source to read film and TV discussion.

I rely on these message boards for so much more than I can find on any other site. Years and years of people's thoughts, info and opinions on movies, shows and talent for nearly everything out there. If you take this away, I have no reason to come to IMDB for all of the basic info I can find on many other sources.

Closing the board is a dumb idea. I come to imdb daily just to read the boards. If it is closed, my usage will be 1/20 what it is now. Whomever decided to close the boards should be fired.

IMDB message boards are easily among the top two reasons to visit imdb. If boards are discontinued we will visit far less frequently and, therefore, see substantially fewer advertisers' messages.
