Please do not punish IMDB message boards for a few trolls. Will be lost without it. don't comment too much but enjoy reading others comments. You never have to watch a movie alone when you have the message boards!

Wouldn't it be better to improve the message boards than remove the opportunity for discussion on your site, which is the backbone of movie and television entertainment?

Despite the (far too many) trolls and pretentious people in IMBD messageboards, they are to me one of the most interesting and valuable aspects of the website and althought I never even wrote on it I always check it after going to see a movie and compare opinions. I also love to read what people think of older movies. I''ll make it short: to me IMDB looses close to 50% of it interest without the messageboards.

This is literally 90% of the reason i use this app and website. Unless there is a huge financial reason, i believe this is a very misguided decision

The boards are great , please keep theme. Without the boards I will never go on the site. I use the boards daily. I do not post but read the opinions of others and use them to to see if I should view something or not.

Why are you getting rid of the best part of your sight. My favourite thing to do after enjoying a film or tv show was to visit the message boards to see what other people had to say :(

I've been a active member since 2006 and the message boards are Essential to the enjoyment of the site. I can't understand the reasons of shutting it down communication between fans is the goal and it brings us closer together as a community. You must take the good with the bad.If its just about money then you just lost a lot of people for the wrong reasons

As both a performer who is listed on IMDb to a fan who though not always posts, but reads the message boards often, I ask you please keep them active!
Perhaps you could let users with good history become moderators and spread out the workload of blocking the negativity.

Even though I don't post often, the message boards have been an integral part of my movie-related experiences over the past 10 years (at least). I check IMDb every day. Where else could I see what people are saying about obscure films from 50 years ago? Or everyone's latest reactions to my favorite television shows?
What's the point of even checking IMDb without its message boards?
