Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

I depend on the IMDB message boards for a centralized arena for movie information, reviews, theories, questions, and ideas.

These message board are a cornerstone of the World Wide Web and a piece of personal history, where I've been 'hanging out' virtually for nearly 15 years of my life. Let future generations grow up with access to this community of film buffs - it will only help keep your website relevant in this very competitive, fast moving world. If you'd like to fix things, focus on becoming better eliminating trolls. Wiser to get rid of the pests than to burn down the whole garden.

Please, don't shut down the message boards. I've been a user here for over a decade and find the boards a great place to discuss films and filmmakers. In fact, they're the ONLY place to discuss most individual films and filmmakers. To get rid of the boards is to get rid of a lot of discussion. Discussion which is invaluable. So please, don't do it. I know the trolls are a big problem, but people can and do ignore them. The positive outweighs the negative. So, save the boards. Pretty please, with sugar on top!

Please don't stop the message boards. It is the one place people can discuss a movie or show. The positive much out weighs any negatives.

The Message Boards do more good than harm! Often times they are more informative than the all of the information above them.

The message board is the best thing about IMDb. It attracts people to the site. While I understand you have social media sites, not everyone has a Facebook or Instagram and the format is totally different which makes it very difficult to discuss individual movies and shows. Without the message board this site becomes just a regular site like rotten tomatoes. Nothing special. Every site is going to have trolls, they won't go away. But should the trolls ruin everything for the people who just like to discuss ideas? NO! Please keep the message boards or I doubt I will even use this site.

I love the boards. I refer to the message boards all of the time. Please do not remove the message boards from IMDB.com.

The IMDB message boards were a source of refuge for me in my high school years. I've always loved film but have never had anyone in my life to discuss it with who was as passionate about it. It was also a great way to get film recommendations. I've frowned at some of the ugliness I've seen, but surely some ugliness shouldn't mean we have to lose a VITAL part of this website!
