I never had her as a teacher. However I had many friends and even now my younger brother who sign her praises on her teaching. Why would you involuntarily remove an institution and pillar within the Blake community?

When you think of Blake High School, Ms. D’Anna is the first thing that comes to mind. She has put her heart into the dance and poms program. She has touched the lives of so many kids. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her. She is an inspiring person who devoted her life to bringing the arts to Blake for the past 15 Years. Wether you had her as a teacher or coach she is loved by all. I am so lucky to have learned from the best. Sending all of my love and support to keep her at Blake where she belongs.

Why are you trying to gut the arts program at Blake? Does somebody have a crony friend that they're trying to shove in there or have you decided to abandon the Arts in favor of some stem program because it's flashy right now? I thought you were Educators! I have a master's in education and I work at the church Erie level. I've always been proud that my children graduated from Blake and highly recommended it to other people and supported it. I can't believe you're being so short-sighted!

I don't know her personally but, am a parent of 2013 & 2016 Blake graduates. I've seen the results of her work outside of Blake thru a dance school my friend's daughter participates in. Always quality performances & from the comments placed by others, thus far, it would be a tragedy to lose such a special & gifted teacher. Blake has always had a stellar reputation. Hopefully, it will retain teachers who contribute to that recognition. Keep Ms. D'Anna at Blake!

My senior at Blake had not planned to take tap. Ms. D'anna has inspired her with her teaching, and she blossomed in her love of tap. We need teachers who equalize the classroom for all our kids, making them feel valued as dancers and as people who have value. We need more teachers like her at Blake.

Ms.D’Anna has shaped the dance program for the past 15 years and has been doing a amazing job. She isn’t just a dance teach teacher, she uplifts, teaches, and cares her students, even students who she doesn’t teach. I came to Blake barely knowing anything about dance and when I stepped foot into Ms.D’Anna’s class freshman year I felt welcomed and she taught me so many things, dance related and non-dance related. She has taught me to be a better person and to think about my future. She deserves to stay at Blake without her a lot will fall

Ms. D'Anna was one of my most favorite teachers and she really inspired me on learning how to dance despite me not believing I could do it. If it weren't for Ms. D'Anna I wouldn't have the motivation to keep pursuing not only dancing but all of my performing dreams in general. Please, please keep her at Blake, she is a treasure and future generations of students deserve a chance to meet and learn from her!

There’s no reason to not sign this petition. Without Mrs.D there would be no dance program. Blake has already lost so many great teachers, we can’t lose anymore

Honestly can not believe that I have to sign 2 petitions to keep the ARTS staff at an ART school to keep their jobs. During my 4 years at Blake, I was incredibly lucky to be able to take advantage of some of these programs such as choir, dance, and theater. The school was literally built to include special resources for these classes to thrive. I was a member of the Dance Company during its first few years of inception. It taught me discipline, drive, and courage. With out Mrs. D’Anna, I would not have continued to dance in college. While my education was too-notch, the arts classes at Blake are really what made it feel like home. Those are the classes where I felt safe and cultivated many amazing friendships. Please, save our teachers and save the arts. I know so many of my fellow classmates who are successful in what they do today because of these teachers and their classes.

I had the wonderful experience of having a great dance teacher actually put her all into making us better dancer and artist. There should be no reason why the one person who has been the reason that POMS and dance have been better, more exciting, more energetic, and just more fun should be pushed out involuntarily. Keep the gem where she belongs.
