Mr.sinclair needs to be stopped

You would be losing one of the most valuable assets Blake has left by letting go of Jon Eising. The best memories I have of Blake are from my experience in the music department and marching band. Jon Eising played a vital role in creating those memories. He’s an exceptional teacher, leader and role model. Don’t get rid of the people that make students want to learn, and strive for greatness.

Mr. Eising was a wonderful influence on my daughter while she was at Blake. She continues to play her violin even to this day. Please do not deprive current and future students of the same benefit!!

Though I no longer have children at Blake High School, I know their experiences would not have been close to what they were had Mr. Eising not been a part of it. Mr. Eising always made sure that my boys were working to their highest potential and showed that he really cared about them. Mr. Eising needs to stay at Blake and stay in the music program or the music program will suffer.

My son isn't in the music program. But from reading comments, it sounds like a very well-respected and beloved teacher is being ousted because of a staffing issue? Teachers who can connect to students like that are rare and should be treasured, not systematically discarded because of a 'staffing issue.'' He needs to stay.

I have my job today because he inspired me to be all that I can be and to always have confidence. He encouraged me to go to college, which I wanted to put off. I am extremely grateful I went and with where I am today as a middle school band teacher.

As a veteran music educator, I can personally attest to the impact we have on our students and, in turn, our society. Mr. Eising is an important attribute to your school. Please keep him there to benefit his students and community.

Mr. Eising was not simply a good teacher, he was integral in the development of the identity of so many musicians and young people of character. Through his teaching we as students collaborated with one another, truly got to know ourselves as musicians, and developed leadership skills to lead productive practices unsupervised during lunch and after school. We didn’t just enjoy our time in class, we loathed having to put our instruments away and go to another class to be taught lessons by teachers half as passionate and half as kindhearted as Mr. Eising. For someone to have developed a program into one of excellence is not a simple feat. To have done so for the past 14 years of his career is nearly unheard of. I was awarded a plaque on my final day of my senior year by Mr. Eising for being an outstanding percussionist, an honor I would not have developed without his guidance and belief in me as a musician. Please reconsider this decision.

From band camp just before the beginning of freshman year, Jon Eising has been a guiding light for our son within the BHS music department. His commitment to and engagement of the students has been a constant through good times and difficult ones over the past three years. He IS the heart and soul of the Blake Instrumental program instilling love and joy of playing and performing, representing always “with pride.” His loss will be devrstating to the students and the program. Please reconsider keeping Mr. Eising in the school and working to expand the program to meet the Signature destination.
