We are an arts signature school. To lay off a well-loved teacher who has given our school such a fantastic reputation in instrumental music is frankly illogical and detrimental.

Mr. Eising has bee a loyal teacher and member of the music department for years and he’s done so much for the music program that he does not deserve to leave the job he loves very much. I’m very outraged about this situation and hope that he stays at Blake HS for many more years.

Blake deserves to keep it's good music teachers. I've been at the school for 7 years as a parent and watched Mr. Eisning build his students up and create excitement for the music department. For a signature school to lose a big part of it's program, it is devastating.

I ask that you give this serious reconsideration. Blake is the Signature Arts program and with that, a strong instrumental department is essential. Mr. Eising has consistently led his Orchestra and Bands to earn Superior ratings at County Festivals, not to mention the many trips he has helped to facilitate successfully over his 14 years at Blake. Why would MCPS even consider this? As for students enrolled in instrumental music, Blake currently has TWO orchestras to accommodate all those who want to partake. Reducing staff would be unacceptable.

Mr. Eising is what makes this program so successful and prosperous. These past 14 years, he has devoted countless hours to the Blake music program. We owe it to him to fight for his job in his time of need, to fight for such a fantastic director and someone who has meant so much to me throughout my life

During my time at Blake I never meet a teacher who cares for his students or the school as much as Mr. Eising. He dedicated so much time to the band and music program, and was always there for me and any other student.

This decision is without merit in a school that prides itself as the Signature Program for the Arts and Humanities. Mr. Eising is a well-loved, gifted teacher. We humbly ask that this decision be reversed.

With Blake being the Northeast Consortium Fine Arts school, Jon Eising is instrumental in the succces of the Music Dept as a whole.

Every since I’ve joined the band, I’ve felt nothing but warm welcomes, not just from the students but from Mr. Eising as well. During all my time at Blake, I see how he is able to touch everyone’s lives in one way or another. It’s a huge mistake letting go of Mr. Eising. He’s the father of all our great big family at Blake.
