In signing this petition I support Professor Bill Alexander's position at this school, and want him to stay here as a lecturer.

Alexander was a teacher who inspired and impacted my education in ways much further than the classroom. I chose to go higher level economic theory, in part, because of his teachings. His departure would be a loss to A&M - Galveston, but more importantly, to the student body.

Alexander is the one that finally got me to understand economics. Losing him would be a loss to countless future generations.

One of the smartest and best professors I had. I can't think of a question ever asked to him that he couldn't answer. He's got years of real life experience and teaches on a masters level.

I am furious that TAMUG would fire some of its best professors without even so much as an explanation to its alumni. Dr. Alexander is one of my favorite professors at TAMUG, and he made a very positive impact on my education. As Dr. Alexander’s former student, and as an alumnus of TAMUG, I will refuse to donate any funding in the future to an institution that terminates the employment of its best human assets.

The single thing I valued most regarding my education at TAMUG was the number of professors and lecturers who held successful careers in the fields in which they taught. Theory only goes so far.

A great professor that is actually teaching for the benefit of the students not for the pay check.
