Really hard to get across this street. We also have to remember the elementary school that's just two blocks up and the kids cross this intersection daily.

I support the efforts to secure a crosswalk or stop light at the corner of 4th and Obispo.

For years, I have walked from my home Coronado, crossing 6th street to walk to Bluff Park. Increasingly, I have witnessed drivers racing both East and West on 4th . My walking partner and I have been talking about demanding a flaming yellow light and painted crosswalk at 4th and Coronado . Now, one block west, at 4th and Obispo, a person has been killed walking across the street.
ENOUGH!! We want the same upgrades that the city has given to Belmont Heights along Broadway.
One life is one too many.
Our sales tax is going to be 10% on 1-1-17. Please take money from the general Fund and create much safer 4th street. OUR LIVES MATTER just as much as anyone in Long beach..we need this done.

I shop at Ralph's several times a month. I do not drive. I either take the bus or walk. I have witnessed people standing in the crosswalks waiting for traffic to stop, while traffic speeds by oblivious to any pedestrians, companion dogs or wheelchairs. I think having a crosswalk would bring attention and caution to a desperate situation.

My friend and her children live in this neighborhood and many others. I hope it will help eliminate any further accidents and bring awareness to other busy intersections. I see many families posting a Slow Down, Drive as you had children here signs and it does remember people even for a moment to be more cautious. Public Safety is important as for I was born and raised in Long Beach but a hit and run is unacceptable.

I was in a car accident on this same corner several years ago. With the cars parking on 4th it is impossible to see traffic going toward Redondo Avenue, you have to inch out and take a chance of getting hit.
