The administration has confirmed that dance performances will be restored to the Late Night Madness schedule. Your collective efforts ensured that these groups reclaimed their place on the stage. We will continue to monitor the planning process to verify that this commitment is honored for all future events.

The Providence College Dance Company, Dance Club, Irish Step Club, and Motherland dance group performances are widely anticipated at the Late Night Madness event. This year, our groups have been informed the dance portion of the event will not take place. Sign this petition to keep these performances on the schedule, regardless of the setting of Madness. Dancing in this event is crucial for each group. We have lost three years of performances due to extenuating circumstances. In the past four years at Providence College, members within our groups shared the excitement they felt when they performed at this event. It gave our dance groups a place within PC to shine and became an important performance for everyone involved. Sign this petition to keep these performances on the schedule, regardless of the setting of Madness.

“Aren't we told in Psalm 149 'Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song. Let them praise His name in the dance'? And it was King David - King David, who we read about in Samuel - and what did David do? David danced before the Lord with all his might... leaping and dancing before the Lord." -Ren MacCormack, 'Footloose', 1984.

PCDC has ALWAYS been allowed to perform at madness, as well as all other dance groups on campus. To suddenly remove them (but keep dance team) is ridiculous. Dance groups on campus already get limited performing time throughout the year, to take this away is incredibly disrespectful to all the hard work PC dance groups have done over the years. All the time they have put into performing at events when the school asks last minute? Let them dance at madness. They always have, and they always should. To exclude them is blatantly disrespectful.

Late night madness just wont be the same without the dance clubs. These groups work so hard all semester and they deserve their moment on that stage. Bring it back!

If you can let the seniors have class dances outside, you can let the DANCE CLUBS perform!!!

The dancers deserve to dance. They have been denied so much in the past almost 2 years. Let them dance!!

Madness is something that all PCDC members used to look forward to. It was their chance to connect with the student body and show their school spirit. Incredibly disappointing.
