Does anyone knows where can I request a crosswalk for an existing traffic light on hope street?

On October 9th, I was crossing the street at the intersection as a PEDESTRIAN on Hope Street to enter Grade A Market. An older man was pulling out of the intersection and hit me. I fell onto the ground hard and was taken to the ER by ambulance. I was crying at the hospital and scared out of my mind for my 19 week pregnancy. As I was getting the sonogram to check my uterus, the police officer called to the scene gave me a $75 fine for jaywalking. Seriously? I--a pregnant pedestrian-- was just hit by a car which had his lights on and knocked me over when I was already 75 percent across the intersection.
Please can we make our streets safer? The police officer told me that I should have crossed at the intersection nearly a quarter of mile away. The other place I could "legally' cross was maybe 200 feet away but there is no sidewalk for me to reach it.

Please consider changing the drop-off area or forbidding it on west side of Strawberry Hill!
We can not in good conscience increase the number of kids going to school in this deadly traffic zone without studying and solving safety issues ASAP.

This school has many activities going on not only during the school week but on weekends as well I think a cross walk with a stop sign us very important for the safety of these kids

This is a much overdue project that the city of Stamford needs to fully embrace. Entire roads all throughout the city have no sidewalks, while other roads allow too many cars to park on the street, furthering conjestion.

We need to slow down development, reduce congestion, calm traffic and make our streets safe for all.

This is tragic that so many families and friends have lost their loved one at this same intersection in the past 4 years and nothing has been done to make it safer for pedestrians. Even more tragic, this intersection is in front of a school. This should be the safest area to cross a street, but somehow the City of Stamford refuses to acknowledge the severity of this problem. Immediate action and changes are imperative! Many thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends who have lost their loved one do to the City of Stamford's negligence.

How is it possible this was missed in a traffic study?
Stamford High School has been there for how long?
This is tragic and unacceptable.

I am a concerned citizen that would like to contribute to this tragic death. There definitely needs to be work done on the streets of Stamford or CT in general.
