I'm signing this petition to say that it's time the SMRT get its act together. Millions of ordinary commuters depend on the mrt to get on in their daily lives. I can't imagine how ordinary Singaporeans cannot take public transport for granted and have to pay transport fees - and suffer every day!

Before we talk abt becoming a "smart nation", get the foundational stuffs like public transport like SMRT working first. The citizens should all collectively engage a lawyer to sue SMRT for wasting our time with their breakdown every few days in frequency. Its shameful. Also, govt shd nationalise smrt instead allowing it to be privately owned by elite stakeholders whom the smrt now serve for profits rather than singaporeans.

I have never experienced any train breakdowns in my travel to BKK, HKG, TPE, TYO, n many other cities. In SIN , breakdowns are routine n each day I ride the train with apprehension, expecting it to break down.

Next time, announcements only need to be made when the trains are running because the number of days breakdown are higher than the number of days that the trains are working.
