Spend more time to tackle MRT issues and employ local engineers for sustainability

Our transport minister earns more than his counterparts worldwide (and indeed more than all, if not , almost all govt leaders world wide). I believe the MRT operator CEO earns more his counterparts too for running a train system that is fraction of the size of other countries. This is Singapore - only a tiny city state, and yet train system still so problematic.

I was affected by the massive breakdown on 28 June 17. In the end I was late by 2.5 hours for my meeting with visiting Chinese friends. Cabs are all full grab and Uber could not get next due to massive crowd. MRT system has been problematic. Since 2011. It's not acceptable for a nation that call itself as the best run in the world. If the current management cannot solve the problems it's only fair that another team be appointed. The SAF team in SMRT can be given another well paid cushy job in a less critical division in Spore. MRT lines are monopoly and critical basic service. We should not risk having incapable people taking charge of the MRT.

Terrible transport for a first world country

The frequent breakdowns / delays of the MRT is unacceptable. LTA and SMRT should really find out why we can't have same service standard as MTR in HK.
