So because there is nothing I can do about it I shouldn't complain? Mr.S keeping his job or not in no way affects me because I am a senior. Although, for him to lose his job because he was giving the top orchestra players a hard time is ridiculous if that's the actual reason. There is an expectation for students in phil to play at a certain level, which I guess you can't understand. I would assume nobody forced you to join and nobody forced you to stay. I hope you magically conjure up a better teacher. It still blows my mind that he could possibly say anything to make this result. If I were to guess there is no one who has ever given you a hard time in your life. I honestly don't care but it is still a shame people would take the job of someone who works hard. Maybe another shuffle of the deck will bring about someone who is an amazing teacher yet doesn't care if you play trash.

It would be a shame to see such a good teacher go. I think it's important that the board understands how many students and parents appreciate what he does for the music program and how many events he has arranged for orchestra students. Personally, I believe he has helped me grow as a student and has given me a lot of good opportunities to help me continue to grow.

Its not Phil or Chamber that I can't handle, its the teacher. And no there are many teachers who are miles ahead of Mr. S (in attitude, and ESPECIALLY skill). All I'm saying is you're lucky Mr. S is nice to you and doesn't care how you sound. I'm not defending firing Mr. S, I can just give you reason after reason why its pointless to try and make a petition to somehow magically reverse the paperwork that's already official.

Speaking as a student in two of Mr. S's music groups, I can say not a single person does not like Mr. S because of the goals he sets and the fact that he wants us to improve realistically. If anything, he holds us to a standard that is completely unrealistic. People don't like Mr. S because of the way he treats his students.

This man is a good teacher. He is tough but fair just as we are as parents to our children. He has helped my daughter grow in the music she loves so much and has even encouraged her to push her self for certain seat in class, which she would have never done on her own with out his support. Remember he is tough but fair and exactly the type of teacher I want all children to have.

It would be a great shame if a passionate teacher was forced to resign because he wants to help students improve by giving them realistic but challenging goals.

Wow. Just like any other teacher. Cry me a river. If you can't handle phil you should have just left.

Suuuuh Dude. If Mr. S gets fired that'll make it like the 1 millionth orchestra teacher I've had. Sure as hell am tired of getting to know these new scrubs.

I'm not here next year, but I think he should stay. He may not be the most wonderful teacher in all of history, but I feel like people are tired from jumping from teacher to teacher. He should remain at BHS

Mr. S isn't always the best teacher, but he gave us what we needed. Sometimes the only way you can get the technique you need is by having a teacher that's crazy about it. He has made us all better, and given us good music to play. It is a shame that he will be leaving.

I doubt they will make that mistake again. Since we had to fire Mr. S, they are probably going to be more careful in choosing a replacement.

I'm guessing you haven't been personally victimized by him and you are an example of one person. Mr. S isn't getting fired because one kid didn't like him or one orchestra. Time and time again he has proven he cannot compromise, respect the students, or acted like a professional. Two years is long enough for the school to receive countless complaints about a teacher being unfair. I envy that Sinfonietta has built such a high respect for Mr. S and that may be because he treats you guys differently, because he has frustrated MANY people in Philharmonic orchestra, causing many people to resent orchestra and even quit.

Although Mr. Saxs can be rough at times, I believe that overall he is a pretty good teacher. Keep in mind if he does get fired, someone worse may take his pkace.
