As a child minder I no longer visit my local park which is Wooburn Park due to the risks involved. Such as, children being scared of dogs (not all dogs are safe and even if they are children don't know this), strangers, dog mess, high, fast flowing river, main road and many more. Please fence up the children's play area again.

A fence would be a much needed addition to the play area given the proximity of the road & the river not to mention the insistence of dog walkers without children walking through.

its only a matter of time before we lose a toddler in the river, with the levels at the moment, and the speed its moving, no need to say anymore!!!

Never understood why they took it down in the first place!! Now I have children it would be nice for her to play without having dog poo messing it up!!

Everyone who is signing this petition I would like to say two things to. Firstly I would like to thank everyone who is signing this petition and I am thrilled that in just a few short hours so many people have signed the petition. I would also like to ask if you could all share the petition in any way possible. I am planning to put some hard copies up around the area and any recommendations of where would be good to place one. Also if anyone could leave there email addresses in the comments area for me to send them a copy to pass around at work or in other such places to get more signatures and if a fence gets put up than any of my supporters can know that they helped to make it happen.

children run and enjoy this area which makes the dogs run and bark, not a good combination

I would strongly encourage fencing around the children's play area, this would stop dogs messing in this area.

As a dog and child owner I would like to know my dog can't scare others kids and my child is also safe

I agree a fence is needed. My daughters now scared of dogs because at this exact park a dog ran up to her and jumped, causing no harm but as it wasn't on a lead the owner couldn't get there quick enough.

We cant currently visit wooburn park as our daughter has physical difficulties and without a fence around the play area there is a huge risk a dog could run across the park and knock her over. Such a shame as she used to enjoy playing there.

With so many irresponsible dog owners not clearing up behind their pets I believe a fence around the childrens play area to be highly important !

desperately needs a fence due to dogs fouling near play equipment and also the danger of a child going into the water and drowning.

I made a fuss to the Parish Council when the fence was taken down (due to persistent vandalism). I felt it meant the vandals had won. It definitely needs a fence to keep dogs out/keep children in and keep the younger ones safe from the stream. Well done for starting this.
