We urge the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK) and SOK Director of Sports, Fredrik Joulamo, to reconsider its decision and award Felix Monsén a place in the Swedish Olympic team for the Milano-Cortina Winter Games.
Only days ahead of the legendary Hahnenkamm-Rennen in Kitzbühel, SOK refused the opportunity to receive an additional quota spot. At that very race, the most prestigious alpine competition in the world, Felix delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 10th in the Downhill. This result is the second-best Swedish result ever in Kitzbühel and the strongest men’s alpine result by any Swedish skier this season.
Felix Monsén represents everything the Olympic Games stand for: hard work, resilience, mental strength, comeback from serious injuries and performing when it matters the most. All this without proper economic support from Sweden’s Alpine Ski Team.
Excluding Felix sends the wrong message to future athletes and reduces Sweden’s chances of competing for medals in the speed disciplines, men’s Super-G, Downhill and Alpine Combined where Sweden now won’t even have a team represented.
We ask the Swedish Olympic Committee to reclaim the quota spot and give Felix Monsén, and Sweden, the chance to fight for medals in Milano–Cortina in the speed disciplines.

Felix presterar bäst i Sverige denna säsong. Ni riskerar att döda sporten när resultat inte länge räknas. Det är en stor skada för kommande åkare. Han åker DH, SG och kombination. Han ledde första minuten i HK och slog av något när sikten blev sämre. Blev ändå 10!
Tack Erik :) 1 ) Grundkriteriet enligt SOK själva, är minst chans till 12e plats i OS. Felix blev nyligen nr 10. 2) Hur hålls intresset, för tex framtida alpina sportutövare och publika evenemang inom alpint, vid liv genom detta kortsiktiga beslut ? Skäms SOK !!!
Det är oacceptabelt att en som kommer 10 i världens svåraste störtlopp inte får en OS plats, medan en annan alpin åkare som högst osannolikt kan prestera 2 bra åk i slalom får en plats på grund av en 13e plats som årets bästa resultat i världscupen. Vad är det för logik?

Trodde självklart att Felix kommit med i OStruppen med hans fina 10 plats i Kitzbühl! (Krävdes inom plats 12). Han åker störtlopp och Super G och har stor chans i teameventet med K Jakobsen! Vår enda fartåkare som är en stor inspiration för yngre åkare. Felix till OS!!

Felix has met the criteria (unlike some of the other great athletes the got a spot). He has the best result for the season, and did so in the toughest race. The fair thing would be for SOK to right their wrong and offer Felix a spot.
