replace the bridge or build a round about that would take traffic toward moss bluff and circle back to meet I10 near Sulphur. Traffic engineers should review I285 in the Atlanta Metro area. Great for traffic flow around the city and an economic plus for the areas it travels through.

Please give us a new bridge! With growth expected, I'm not sure how much longer this bridge will last! It is very scary to cross, and I do not cross it at night at all costs!

You ought to walk over the I-10 bridge just to see how much it shakes. When it falls into the river, you will appreciate its state of disrepair.

The bridge is dangerous to go over. It is long since time to start work on a low rise bridge that can be built quicker and cheaper than a tall bridge.

The Calcasieu River Bridge (I-10 East/West) was built in 1952. Currently, there are 72,100 crossings/day¹. Much of that traffic is commercial - from passenger vans/trailers & buses to 80k lb. tractor-trailers. Of Louisiana’s 869 urban interstate bridges, 18 have been determined to contain various deficiencies. Of these 18, the Lake Charles I-10 bridge is listed as one of Louisiana’s “Top Most Traveled Structurally Deficient Bridges in the State”. ² Even following a structural update, in 2000, the National Bridge Inventory Database lists it as “Structurally Deficient”, in “Serious Condition”, and “Basically intolerable requiring high priority of corrective action”. ³ With an economic boom, lurking just around the corner, it is imperative the Calcasieu River Bridge be replaced ASAP! As a professional driver, I "feel" the effects of this bridge's decline, every time I cross it. Until today, however, I had no idea it was on the verge of becoming a Galloping Gertie. And, using I-210 may be a cautious work-around. But, it is not a sustainable solution; it is merely a temporary fix. Get with it, LoUiSiAna – Safety First! Don't forget the Westlake Overpass in the I-10 Bridge project. We are tired of wanting on trains. This needs to be done ASAP.
