Make the people safe!!!! Your children drive over that bridge!!! It's nor like it is the only way to get to lake charles, there Is a second bridge, in fine condition that the people can use until a new bridge can be built!!!!!

I say a prayer everytime I cross it! I am ashamed that I live in a state that would let people die before another bridge is built!! What happened to all the casino money that was to help our roadways and education?? Instead our education is cut back, tuition is going up, and our bridges and roads are in desperate need of repair!! Something needs to be done before the unthinkable happens!

Does anyone in charge of working on this remember what happened in St. Paul, Minnesota on I-35W back in 2007? If not, I suggest you Google it. It CAN and WILL happen here if the powers that be don't pull their head out of their posterior orifice.

Just get a disaster plan on record and get the design done now don't wait to start the design of a new bridge. If politics can't decide on what height it should be then do two preliminary plans and be ready to build whichever is approved.

So sad that this bridge exists in our state with no officials being worried about what could happen. The bridge in Oklahoma was not as old and not as high and still crumbled. No our state is worried about giving out more Medicaid cards and free stuff to people who do not earn it!

This bridge has been a problem since I moved to Westlake in 1984 and it is getting worse and more dangerous. We need something done now not 20 years from now. The government seems to be dragging their feet on this project. One of these days, this is going to collapse. It is already cost Louisiana money from companies refusing to send their truck on this route.

The bridge is very dangerous. When there's a lot of cars on the bridge when there's traffic and your stop it rocks back and forth. I fell very uncomfortable on the bridge.
