VCU continues to be one of the most money hungry colleges in the state. They admit more students than they can possibly provide housing for, forcing them to find off campus housing when many of them are new to the area and are just trying to get used to Richmond. They also continue on their crusade of dominating all of Richmond by building even more VCU buildings and forcing the student to front the cost of construction. This has to stop. The tuition hike is completely unacceptable and unnecessary.

VCU should stop expanding liberal arts programs that have nonexistent potential of being valuable in the real world. There are so many programs that, where they may be interesting to learn about, do not provide a foundation for meaningful occupations, which is why we all go to college in the first place. Some degrees yield very few opportunities or qualifications to get A job. I can understand expanding STEM or research related curricula, but several programs have been created and are focused on perspective of historical or sociological events rather than fact or scientific discovery. This is not learning, its brainwashing and bending young minds towards a very narrow outlook on life. You cant have diversity without empathy, but these programs arent breeding compassionate inclusion, instead self centered retributions aimed at stereotypical classes.

You can't raise tution on students just to pay for all these new buildings y'all keep building that's not our fault. You should be focused on fixing the buildings you already have. No tution raise!

Higher education is already exorbitantly high. If I wanted to pay more for college I would have chosen to go into debt while attending a private, out-of-state school that would provide better education.

I chose VCU due to its affordability and it's not fair that I'm paying more each year after I started. I don't get a thing for the extra money, just amenities I don't need or use, and more funds dumped into a basketball team, while my debt is sky high.
