Without relieving the existing congestion in the town and along Whittington Way itself, this should not even be considered. This green space is also vital to the feel of the area, and closing it in would be criminal - right now it is a green lung but developing it would create more standing traffic and more pollution to the existing housing estate (on which I live).

This proposal will be a disaster for the area. The local road infrastructure is struggling to manage now. This will cause complete grid lock. We need an eastern relief road before any applications to build can be accepted.

This is an unspoilt area of land - a lung to keep the area green & healthy. If it goes - it will have gone forever.

This is such an unspoilt area of land, and it deserves to stay that way - not least because Bishops Stortford cannot cope with more people and cars! This seems to be obvious to everyone except the District Council.

The level of proposed development is unsustainable and poorly thought through. The current infrastructure cannot cope, even before the implementation of Bishop's Stortford North.

Typical - no infrastructure prior to housing development; but I any case let's preserve what little green belt we have

Magnificent views across the Stort Valley on this site from the Hertfordshire Way. Skylarks and yellow hammers often seen and heard here and lots of other wildlife. All to be replaced by hundreds of houses and this lovely green space gone forever - utter madness.

There are not sufficient services in Stortford for the exisiting and already planned housing.
The additional housing must be spread throughout the area and Hertford and its surrounding area must now take its fair share.

The proposal to build houses on this particular Green Belt land has been previously considered a rejected a number of times. EHDC strongly objected to the siting of a school on the site and the Inspector at the Schools Inquiry ruled against development

The site was refused development by the Secretary of State. The Green Belt must be re-instated. The town's infrastructure cannot cope with this additional area if developed.

The Green Belt needs to be preserved to stop us becoming just an extension to the urban sprawl of Harlow.
Keep our green spaces
