There is a huge new development already in the pipeline for Bishop's Stortford and the town can't cope with the number of people we have now.

BS has more than its fair share of new housing development on this side of the county. The policy of East Herts Council of 'Stuff it in Stortford' has to end.

No further new housing is really needed here and there is plenty of room to build more in Greater London where it is needed.

Apart from anything else, there was no public approval sought as EHDC must do. There are two letters from the Secretary of State stating this must be so. The BS Neighbourhood Plan did consult every household on this specific issue in 2014 with 92% opposed to removal ftom the green belt.

While I have first hand experience of the need for housing in th area, I strongly contest this plan as we need to keep the countryside for the residents and wildlife. We also need a stronger infrastructure in town which is crumbling already under the weight if people.

Our local children have the right to see, grow up in and inherit a life long love for the wonderful and diverse beauty that surrounds them in the countryside in East Hertfordshire. This plan will concrete over their hearts and divide our community forever. Please, let's put aside our petty differences and fight together to keep our green belt, we owe it to our children and grandchildren.

BS has already taken more than its share of housing for the District under the last District Plan. This proposal removes already limited green space following attrition at Ash Grove, Woodlands and potentially BS Golf Club and is not for the needs of BS but ' for the Housing Market Area' ie surrounding Districts - Uttlesford, Harlow, and beyond, etc and greater E Herts outside of BS whilst the rest/bulk of EH takes v little housing in the next 20 years.

Bishops stortford/Thorley Park has been developed enough. Every semblance of a country town has been crushed under the weight of brick & concrete. Blades of grass replaced by asphalt, even the river's no more than a glorified ditch. All those green spaces from thorley early developments "never to be built on plots" are covered with housing. Enoughs enough, the town & countryside needs to breathe!!!

The Green Belt is important to the health of everyone, a green lung separating conurbations from one another and providing space to grow the larger trees so important for climate change.

Too much development around a town that does not have the serivices or infrastructure to support the influx of people and vehicles. Green belt land should not be built on.

Too much housing and lack of shops as they gradually close down, leaving nothing but coffee shops, hairdressers or charity shops. Please don't ruin another greenbelt
