Tis area has been the subject of a public enquiry already for development and was rejected by the inspector. since then traffic flow in the area has got worse and there is no planned development which will alleviate the position. The natural extension of this application will be even more houses in Thorley where the boys high school is and gridlock everywhere. The whole scheme to develop south of B/S is completly misconceived and will kill the Town.

By allowing this development it will take away more of the Greenbelt and also create more traffic chaos for those of us living on the Thorley Estate.

Greenbelt is there to act as lungs for the area - reduce the belt (building on it), you reduce the lungs (our green areas). This adds to pollution (already very high) risk of flooding and extra people, cars etc where the infrastructure is already suffering. Give Bishops Stortford a break! Don't build any more houses on green belt.

EHC has for far too long had a policy regarding new housing of 'Stuff it in Stortford' and it must be stopped.

What is the purpose of a Green Belt if EHDC break their own Policies and build on it?

There is already no extra infrastructure and no more parking or doctors. This is madness stuffing more houses into Bishop's Stortford!

I am extremely concerned about plans to extend housing and other development into the green belt to the South of Bishop's Stortford. Further additional housing puts more pressure on the existing services in the town which are already overstretched. This will have a major detrimental pact on the surrounding environment.

The Green Belt is too valuable to lose and will be gone forever. We all need green space.

Bishops stortford is being drowned with large housing developments without improving infrastructure. This attempt to build on greenbelt land must be overturned to prevent setting a precedent with other potential developments around the town. Greenbelt must stay as such or we risk loosing it forever.

This land contains two significant and well used footpaths, one being part of the Hertfordshire Way. As a Ramblers member I use both as a main link from the River Stort to the wider footpaths in Thorley and beyond. Building on this land would have a significant negative impact on the enjoyment of this route.

I disagree with the plan to use green belt land. We live on Rye street and the increased traffic over the years has affected us environmentally and raised accident levels as motorists use Rye Street as a cut through in and out of town to avoid the congestion on the other in and out roads and the Bypass which is supposed to carry the weight. We do not have the infrastructure, schools, or facilities to support the fast massive expansion and population.

I live on Thorley street and this development really worries me as the traffic flow outside my house is already very great. Motorists also speed along Thorley street which is a danger to pedestrians (including my 12 year old daughter who walks to school). More traffic will only make this worse. Will there be any speed restriction/enforcement measures put in place? I doubt it.
