Mr, Jelili Atiku has the right to use his art in any form and unrestricted. i met Mr Jelili at the Tate modern here in london where he perfomed his work washing feet, which to me is an act of unity, and he is a respective artist who inspires young and old alike with the way that he expresses his feelings via Art performance. drop these charges now, that you have on him and go catch the real criminals that are raping, abusing and killing innocent people, JELILI IS A POSITIVE, GOOD FANTASTIC CITIZEN OF NIGERIA, LEAVE HIM ALONE

Free the man and let the dawn of Jehovah lit on all god's children, Today is the year of liberation. He has done nothing but to exhibit all aesthetic essence of arts and life not a national renegade. He is a man of goodwill, a personage of mighty works. Free this man

As visual artist myself and university lecturer I support the the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA), and hereby declare the arrest, arraignment and the ongoing prosecution of Jelili Atiku as a malicious prosecution of an innocent citizen and a clear disregard for creativity and extreme hostility to artistic expression.
Together with artists and academics from the whole world we
petition the Commissioner of Police as follows: -
1. To intervene and drop the 4-count criminal charge with the Charge No MM/E/01/16 instituted against JELILI ATIKU
2. To bring to justice those enemies of creativity and freedom of artistic expression using the police and courts as tools of oppression of an innocent citizen
