SACAP has failed to serve the interest of architects and has been a hindrance to progress.

Disband the current council, and maybe ask for interim team from 2006, the team that served competently!

I sign in solidarity ...we OHS practitioners are forced to join SACPCMP without any amendment to their SACPCMP Act. Our Rights are being violated!

While I agree that SACAP really does need to do some (very) serious house-cleaning, the petition itself contains a number of ideas which I think are very confused, and which I think may add to the problem, rather than solving it. For instance, the petition appears to want SACAP to increase its restrictive actions as regards people who are not registered, which is precisely what the Competition Commission didn't like (with good reason). SACAPs primary mandate according to the Act is : a) adjudicatory - in respect of qualifications and behaviour of RPs b) custodial - in respect of proper keeping of the register, and c) advisory - in respect of presenting architectural issues to the State. If it did those things properly, with common sense and fully in compliance with the law, all would be well - and there would be no need for such petitions. But charging about like some Quixotic Architectural Justice Warrior, is not very dignified.

SACAP deregistered my account when I was not in practice in 2012, last year I wanted to register again they charge me for the past 5years annual fees after they deregistered my account, SACAP has done nothing for us but keep on charging these fees and useless workshop points.

SACAP is really of no use to us as architects. Most of their regulations works in favour of protecting the public than us as architect. SACAP must fall...

Hi George. We must make it a priority that we reopen your case, especially because there is no one both within Legal and Compliance unit as well as Investigating Committee that is a qualified architect. In the medical field cases are not investigated by nurses or people qualified in other fields, and this is an serious indictment to our profession
