Architecture is by far the longest most challenging discipline to pursue and a tough industry to survive in. SACAP's conduct is detrimental to the esteem, the dignity and professionalism of this discipline.

I am signing this petition to protect our profession against corruption and incompetence. We are professionals who have been through hell to get to where we are, and we can't let arrogant bureaucrats control us without even protecting us against non paying clients and the corruption out in the industry.

Please note that I have a BIG problem with SANS 10400 Form 2. Why do we have to submit our plans to the municipality Building Dept but Engineers do not have to?We both submit Form 2 and accept same responsibility. Who can help me with this?

This regulatory body generally do not bother to reply to emails, and are telephonically more difficult to get hold of than some of the most useless of the council staff. The systems are not effective, incorrect email address have been used, having detrimental effects on annual subscription payments. Their fee does not nearly warrant what they do for architects. Their website does not reflect the service that architects get. A regulatory body is required, but needs to be effective, add value, and not cost the architect fees that gain no return.

Good day Colleagues It has come to our attention as of today that some amongst us have have been served with letters of alleged misconduct. We want to firstly reiterate that, as previously communicated, that from a legal point of view, all of you who have supported the A4C initiative in whichever way or form are protected from a legal point of view. Secondly, Senior Counsel as well as our attorneys have requested that you direct an correspondence that you may have received from SACAP to the A4C leadership ([email protected]), which in turn will be dealt with by themselves as our legal team. We kindly urge that you refrain from making any response to any such correspondence because it will be easier if all of this is dealt with from a centralized point. We again want to give you our utmost assurance that everything is under control and that none of us should be intimidated by any advances on the part of SACAP. Our legal team who as of today reviewed the body of evidence substantiating the complaints in the petition is even more convinced that as professionals we have a solid case. Despite all the attempts by SACAP in making reactionary media statements, they have failed to accede to our request for a thorough and independent forensic investigation which in itself speaks volumes. What we have jointly done so far in exercising our constitutional right is very commendable, and we believe that this can only help in cleaning out the profession and strengthening it. We will be sending out a letter from our legal team by the next Monday (03.04.2017) briefly stating the legal position and how the legal process going forward will unfold. If there is one thing we have all achieved throughout this process so far, is the ability to look beyond our differences ie. categories; race; age; class etc, and demonstrate to everyone that we are capable of unashamedly 'speakig truth to power' to save this beautiful profession that has come to define who we are.

I have been registered as a candidate for 10yrs, I am an entrepreneur, I am creative, I am driven, I am ambitious, innovative. I fail to register as an architect every year because I must be employed to be able to 1. register and write, 2. Eligeable to write 3. Afford to pay my outstanding professional fee membership so I can register and pay again for an examination. But I need to be registered to be able to get a job at Public works. So what happens?
