I am tired of been forced to belong to a compulsory body that is totally incompetent and does absolutely nothing for me as a professional architect!

Let us stop the destruction of the architectural profession through unilateral and unlawful expansion of mandate leading to misleading of the public

A council must serve it's professionals and equally protect the interests of both parties involved in a dispute...etc.

SACAP currently offers no value to the professional, they are notoriously disorganised and frustrating to deal with, and they charge high fees just to award themselves unbelievable salaries!

SACAP NEEDS TO CHANGE AND PROTECT THE PROFESSION; before it becomes extinct. ---------Just to simplify it..... Doctors don't permit GP, nurses "Snr nurse" to conduct any form of surgical procedures or minor procedures ----------- Lawyers are not referred to as Advocates or Judges or cannot practice as such ----- Why then is the Professional Architect treated like Technologist? To a point where the general public don't know the difference the difference between a Professional Architect and a Technologist. ------- I know of a  matric who completed a 2week 3D course and has established an ABC-Architects practice and has made a footprint in the profession and has aqcuired more housing projects than most Pr Architects.  ---------- How does the system allow people without the required qualifications and accreditations to practice and furthermore use Pr Architects registered numbers without their knowledge? ----- Numerous incidents and cases have been reported yet Sacap has confirmed that the individuals are not members of the acrredited body hence unfortunately they can not do anything.  It is the responsibilty of the Professional to ensue legal action. ------- Let's not kill the profession. Lots of graduate Architects will soon have no jobs.

I also got a deregistration email due to failure to pay outstanding fees. Which was a shock as I had never received notification of the said outstanding invoice. I was in contact with their office a week before that and they failed to let me know that I was about to be deregistered ( I suspect their database is not interconnected. The Online mtr and upgrading process was even worse). It took R4000 and 2 months of patience to get reregistered. No support from them whatsoever.

The yearly fee still due to payment if individual was de-registered is not right and amounts to be very expensive

Architects are struggling to charge relevant fees, part of the problem is that SACAP isn't enforcing recommended fees. Bad management in general. We have had memeber of our office deregistered although we never received "unpaid" invoices. We had to pay penalties and for reregistration.

The latest salary information of the sacap senior staff and board is extortion on the rest of the profession. Alleged salaries are far far higher than anything you can earn in an architects office!!

SACAP has done nothing to help me as an architectural professional.
