Petition to dissolve current SACAP Board/Council due to Mismanagement of the Architectural Profession

Even if you look past the poor service, poor attitudes and incompetence, I have always wondered if I was the only person who found it suspect that Mrs Marella O'Reilly was appointed as the current Registrar and CEO. Her previous position, as the acting CEO of HPCSA (Health Profession Council of South Africa) ended in a suspension for insubordination of council after allegations of contract irregularities. https://www.medicalchronicle.co.za/hpcsa-suspends-acting-registrar-pending-probe/ We dont need these kind of people in our industry.

Corruption in our profession is not on. This is the controlling board- our fees should be used effectively and promote our profession not individuals interests with little to do with it.

Its time to take this profession to the next level.

Henning. I would suggest that if you believe there was an element of injustice and racism in adjucation of your matter that we deal with this together with other complaints as a matter of priority. We cannot accept a situation whereby a very highly qualified and accomplished architect like yourself is investigated by people who have never even seen a drawing board nor ever been on a site before. Within the Legal and Compliance unit there is no single person with techinical experience nor qualification. The Investigation Committee is led by someone with an N3/matric qualification. That is criminal in itself.

I support this petition in full, as a recent graduate and candidate architect, I strongly believe that this type of movement will make an impact towards the greater good of the south african architectural profession. Young architects and candidate architects must start joining in on the fight against the current board of SACAP as they are truly in the wrong, no registrar board can have this incompetent dicision making rights, whilst running a profession into the ground. I have qualified in 1984. I was always registered, but due to no service I stopped my registration. Now that I want to register, I must also start as a candidate.

Simply outrageous . The levels of incompetence is simply unacceptable . I am in the same situation. I have 33 years of experience, but I must register as a candidate
