We, the citizens of democratic India hereby request to you to please convert convict Yakub Memon's hanging into life imprisonment. Yakub Memon is sentenced to death for his alleged involvement in 1993 Mumbai serial Bomb blasts which was termed as a reaction to 1992 Mumbai communal riots. We strongly condemn both the dastardly acts and unfortunate incidences that has resulted in the murder of the humanity. We are of the strong opinion that such dastardly acts should not go unpunished. At the same time we are concerned for justice and think that Yakub Memon has already spent around 22 years behind the bars for the role which has not even been clearly or convincingly established. Consideration should also be given to his good conduct during his jail term and that he can not be in anyway considered a future threat to the society to be awarded capital punishment. Further, we also assume that Yakub Memon had surrendered himself and had returned to country with a confidence and belief in Indian judiciary and we may in some way be letting the faith on our justice down. We hereby request you to please look into the matter at the earliest since the date of hanging is announced as Jully 30, 2015.
