As a student with this grading system I must say that it is not good. This past year I've worked very hard in all my classes to master all the standards and still I have some that I need to master. The grading system is hard for my parents to understand when i'm giving my student lead conference, as my parents had the A,B,C grading system. I feel like this grading system will make it much more difficult for me to get into a good college once I graduate. This grading system is making it much harder to graduate and even if you work hard all year like myself, it seems almost impossible to graduate with all these standards that need to be mastered.

This standard base system has truly made it hard for students to pass most classes, and we can't fix most of our problems until the end of the year and make our own assignments to pass.

This grading system is teaching kids to just meet the standard and not preparing them for college.

The only thing that a standards based system is doing is teaching students that it is acceptable to just “meet the standard”. Without a system that pushes kids to succeed above the standard WLHS is pushing out mediocrity

Not a fan of the standards grading system or the PowerSchool app. Neither is informative to the parents on how their children are doing in school. Also I think parent teacher conferences should be with the teacher not the student presenting the meeting.

My daughter is apart of this grading system now. She works hard does all her work on time and well. Her fellow classmate doesn't and gets the same grade as my kid on the report card. How does that make my kid feel? How does this make my kid want to continue to strive for the best? She asks her teachers of she is passing the course and they can't say. All they can say is that you've MS here but still PS there so you need work here. The last 2 weeks of school are stressful for all the students to pass the course. And how can my daughter come home each report card with honors and then at the end of the year stress that she isn't passing the class? How is that possible to have honors and not pass?!

As someone part of the class of 2020 the grading system has had an extremely negative impact on myself and my peers. Most if not all of the students who have lost most of their motivation and have developed he mentality that they can just try again if they do not complete an assignment up to expectations. Also, the grading system is such a large range and is very inconsistent. Many students wonder what a PS or MS really means. It is very hard to complete a grading system with no numeric value and such wide ranges between grades.

This grading system makes no sense and actually hurts the child's grades and makes them feel like they aren't doing as good as they possibly can and will affect going forward to college
