As a parent of two students that went through traditional grading and now one with the Class of 2020, this grading system is putting more stress on students and parents. My question is, if this grading system is “working” then why do we have Spring Academy, Saturday Academy and Summer School? These kids are working hard and the grades are not reflecting that. I’ve seen a PS test that equaled 80%, but according to the system its not good enough. When these kids get to college and get their test paper back from their professor and its a 75, they’re going to expect to retake it. Sorry kids no do-overs in college. Change the grades back to traditional letter grades, its a flip of the switch.

Since we've moved away from the traditional system, we've slipped down in the state school system ranking by a crazy amount. They make the first step to correcting a ton of previous mistakes.

An averaged point based system is illogical. I would like to be aware exactly how my child is doing in class.

My daughter goes to Windsor locks schools and I want to know that if she's struggling, I am aware.

Our grading system can be so confusing for our parents and everyone else has a regular normal grading system. I feel it would be a lot easier if we all had the same grading!

We need number and letter grades, not some arbitrary system that lumps people all together because we are afraid to know where we stand as our children progress through school. I don’t even know whether my daughter is doing well or not or whether she will do well in college. That needs to take precedence. We need to stop toying with our school system at the expense of our children

My parents some times don’t understand the grading system so I believe this is an effective way to change that.

I dislike the grading system of progressing, meeting, exceeding standards, because I feel it isn’t the best visual grading for a student to learn how they can improve in something. It is too general and if one child does better than another, but both meet standards, that doesn’t seem fair. A child should be able to better compare themselves with previous grades as a motivator.

The grading system is difficult and seems to be setting kids up for lower grades . What do tge students orer its their future and they should be involved on the decision . I think the letter Grafe system works well . My daughters did very well it in 2 different school districts .

The grading system should be what it always was as there is now question when you child succeeds or fails. Parents should be second guessing this, it should be as a matter of fact.

We need a change in our grading system I have a student that didn't did not meet the five standards which means he is failing the class and still does not qualify for Summer Academy. When I went to school if I was failing a class I had to go to summer school. This grading system needs to stop. And we need to return to the standard grades. So what am I child to do now

Do the A-F grading system. It's worked for tons of years and it will STILL work.

I voted no when all this started 6 years ago. What was wrong with the original grading system.
