The so-called separation clause, clearly stated to anyone who passed English 101, protects religion from the state - not the other way around. If a law is made, prohibiting prayer or Bible reading (anywhere) it is in violation of the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances

How absolutely EVIL! We are allowing atheists and ANTI-Christ to rule THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA! How horrible! I don't recognize my country anymore! These lawmakers should be ashamed! If the don't want to live in a CHRISTIAN NATION then LEAVE. Go to a COMMUNIST country and live! Why take our WONDERFUL CHRISTIAN principles away from OUR NATION that men and women have fought to keep alive! Our predacious FREEDOMS! You have twisted the SEPARATION of CHURCH and STATE to mean something very different than the intent of that clause! You should be ashamed of yourselves to back such an evil man made edict! I think it's wrong. I feel those who choose to pray or have religious stuff on there school computers should be up to ones self as long as you are not making it a class project where everyone has to participate there should not be a problem

I am very concerned that what happens here will set the standard for the nation. Teachers deal with enough from the children, parents and the administration. They need their faith to keep them centered, grounded and in control. How dare this school board decide these things and take away these teachers constitutional rights.

WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TOLERANT AN D ACCEPTING OF EVERYONES BELIEFS BUT WHEN ORS COMES UNDER FIRE WE ARE JUST BACKWARDS THINKING PEOPLE. I NOR MY CHILDREN SHOULD HAVE TO HIDE IN ORDER TO ASK FOR THE LORD GOD TO GUIDE OUR THOUGHTS . PRAYER IS A PROVEN METHEOD OF CALMNESS. I ORAY FOR MY CHILDREN AND THOSE ATTENDING THEIR SCHOOLS TO BE SAFE ALERT AND OPEN TO THE NEW CHALLENGES EVERY DAY BRINGS . AND IT HAS WORKED SO FAR AND I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS EVERYDAY FOR 10 YEARS NOW

In neighboring SC and am concerned that this seemingly small injustice is only a small part of a growing attack against both freedom of speech and freedom to express religious beliefs in our country.

I think the important issue here Brandi is that "other religions" are represented in the classroom....they are actually taught in the classroom. Teachers can teach "about" religion is how this curriculum is justified. The problem is a simply cross or scripture on a signature line somehow constitutes a violation of separation of church and state because some idiot thinks that by reading an scripture they are being forced to convert!
