So, antisemitism is a thing, y'all and I'm so sick of the shit of making characters bad, just because you have the power to do so. Captain America, is not a f*cking nazi; he literally fought in WWII and would have rather died than join HYDRA, so making him part of that, was just awful. But the amount of disrespect shown when turning Erik Lehnsherr; MAG-F*CKING-NEATO, a frickin' HOLOCAUST survivor, a canonically JEW, who became the person he did because of all his suffering, to turn him into a frickin' HYDRA, is unacceptable. So, whoever wants to get rid of this writer, please sign!

I am honestly overwhelmed by the response to this and never imagined so many people would feel the same way. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I am just the person who typed this up on a whim. Thank you for showing that respect for these characters matters.

The history is important. The canon is important. You can't just come up with an idea - you have to prove that it's relevant. That it can stand the judgement of millions of people who know the canon better than you do. That went out of the window. The respect for canonical accuracy is gone because of Nick Spencer. If we want our Marvel back, we need him gone, too.

Either the writer is grossly anti semitic or too ignorant of the history of the comics he is continuing to be trusted to further the story of these characters. Either way, it is grounds to fire him and replace him with someone capable of understanding basic back stories.

I have been reading Marvel comics since the mid-80s. I grew up on them and Captain America was always a favorite. It breaks my heart that this is what Cap has come to and it breaks my heart that you would put a Holocaust survivor in an organization with heavy ties to white supremacy and Nazism. Shame on you, Marvel. No more. I will absolutely not support a company who disrespects my family--a family of Rroma survivors--with such blase and gleeful contempt. SHAME. ON. YOU.

This is wrong and is should not have to explain why. You just put a canonically jewish holocaust surviver into a nazi regime. you just put a person who was shaped into the person they were by there history with nazi's and has hated nazi's and everything they stand for their whole life a nazi. This not only unacceptable but it is insulting this is spiting in the faces of jewish people and i will not stand for the man who made this happen. He needs to be fired he needs to apologize and this atrocious thing they want to call a comic book needs to be recalled.

At a time where antisemitism is making such a rise again, this storyline is downright despicable. Not that it wouldn't be already, but the timing makes it so much worse.

This is unfair to the readers and the character who's back story as a Jewish holocaust survivor shaped every aspect of who he is. His history shaped how he acted with people in his life including his best friend and daughter. His history also is where his powers first showed up and what led him to go further with them. This history is exactly why Erik never had peace. You can not ignore it or change it into something disgusting.
