Petition to ban leaf blower from Singapore

Too much noise pollution from many different contractors all working on different days. You end up with 7 day week of noise from these leaf blowers. And if you observe them carefully, you notice most are just going through the motion and blowing left and right across pavements. Just takes a strong wind (which is silent) to blow back all the debris.

I support this petition. Not only is the leaf blower is useless, it blows up particles like dust and goodness knows what else into the air.

The noise is really irritating and super loud. Will NEA please ban this ? I am working on shift and it is affecting my sleep often. Worst of all the smell from the blower is horrible.

Will the authorities care? They obviously know the noise it creates but what have they done?

Ban leaf blower as they are very noisy . No one should be subjected to this high level of noise for prolong period of time and I am such the agency can look into better low noise emitting device or go back to the old times - sweeping.

Irritatingly noisy, unproductive and grossly ineffective. We have observed the crew blowing for hours , yet still struggling to keep the dry leaves in order. The work could have been executed more effectively if rake were to be used while the poor residents can be spared from the unwarranted noise irritant.

Apart from the noise, the leaf blower consumes fuel. Brooms made from dried coconut leaves are still used in South East Asia, why not here. It's quiet, light and eco-friendly.

We can live without leaf blowers. The noise is giving me a headache coupled with noise from renovations

Noise pollution is just as bad as other pollution. Unnecessary

Noise levels don’t justify this method of gathering leaves in piles to THEN be swept up. Might as well use old fashioned way of just sweeping them as at least, there won’t be any noise to disturb nearby residents or pedestrians etc. At above 65dBA, it’s just too loud esp with more work from home scenario.

Never know why such a tool was ever invented. I could still put up if the blades were flipped around to work like a vacuum cleanser. But sheer blowing is unhygienic, pollute both the air n peace we live in. Long overdue to ban purposeless device

This device is for lazy workers.
