The board finally agreed to strike the evergreen clause from the general manager contract. It was a long road to get here but the persistent pressure from 192 of you forced the change we needed. We will keep an eye on how these renewals are handled moving forward.

Petition to Amend the DAC General Manager’s Two Year Employment Agreement so That the Agreement no Longer Renews Each and Every Day.

To the DAC Board:

We, as members of the Denver Athletic Club, desire to have the Employment Agreement between our General Manager Andre' van Hall and our club renegotiated. Specifically, we desire that the Board of Directors renegotiate the agreement in order to remove the "Evergreen Clause", which states "It is intended that the term of employment be a rolling two year term" and "shall renew itself daily."

We make this recommendation in light of being made aware at the recent DAC Town Hall Meeting that a previous DAC Board of Directors had entered into a two year employment contract with Mr. van Hall, which renews each and every day in perpetuity. The recommendation set forth in this petition solely pertains to Mr. Andre’ van Hall’s Employment Agreement and does not pertain to any other employee contract with the Club.

The silence from the Board remains discouraging but we are not stepping back from this oversight issue. I have spent the last few days digging into the contract language again because this daily renewal clause is simply unsustainable for our club future. We stay at this until the agreement reflects actual accountability.

Seeing this level of support confirms that my frustration is shared by so many of you. This process is exhausting but knowing you are behind this change gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

This rolling contract is ridiculous. No accountability at all.

Why does it auto renew every day anyway? That makes absolutely no sense.

The DAC needs better management oversight. Fix the contract.

REALLY hard to believe the board thought this was a good idea in the first place. Needs to change ASAP.
