Petition to Allow Private Midwives to be Eligible for Professional Indemnity Insurance or to Be Exempt from Being Required to Enroll in PI

Every woman should have the right to choose how they birth.

Evry woman should have hthe right to choose where she would like to birth her child, but with current policies, midwives are too incapacitated to offer home births for many women at all. Midwives should be allowed to choose where they wish to practice, and be able to do so knowing that they are covered by insurance, for the just-in-case cases.

Every woman deserves the right to birth Thiet baby where they feel most comfortable, within a safe environment, doing this will only lead to more, free births and un insured midwifes attended img. Births, leaving room for potential havoc and to deminish the name for home births entirely

So grateful I had the choice to birth at home with a midwife.. It should be a choice all women should be able to make for themselves.

I believe the strength of a woman and the support of professionals create the perfect environment for a child to be brought into the world. For me the only place I want to experience this is in the comfort of my own home. This is an important choice and right for any woman to make and taking away the professional support makes this unsafe to do.

Why should insurance companies decide what is good healthcare.

Womens choice matters. They should be able to hire a midwife, without fear - and the midwife should be able to support these women, with peace of mind.

Women need to be able to have choices. All the evidence shows that birthing at home is no more dangerous than birthing in hospital, if there are professionals on hand to monitor the birth should anything go wrong. Please don't force us to choose between hospital birth or free birth.

Birth is natural and requires a woman to be comfortable wherever SHE CHOOSES to birth her child and to be safe in the care of her midwife that hopefully has journeyed with her her WHOLE pregnancy.

For millenia women have given birth with the help support & guidance of professional private midwives .. as a woman, mother, grandmother, sister, Aunty & intelligent human i demand the right for women to determine who supports us in OUR birthing of babies Thank you
