We shouldn't even have to ask the question and fight a political battle to choose where a woman wishes to birth her baby. Support the midwives that support our mothers, sisters, aunties and friends.

I had all my 3 children at home with a private practising midwife, do not stop this service as all women should have the choice of where they birth

The future of home birth as we know it is diminishing as time passes by, access becomes restricted and the preferences of women become further ignored. Access to PI or an exemption is the only way ensure women's right to choose where, and with whom, they birth their baby.

Women should be supported to make the choices about their births that suit them. Homebirth is a very important choice.

If professional midwives are registered and eligible to work in a hospital then the govt. should support their professional decisions in a private context too. It will be a shameful disgrace if Australia fails to support women to birth at home

Every woman should have the right to choose where she welcomes her child into the world- that's already hard enough let's not put more red tape up!

Private midwives allow women options on how they birth be it at home, birth centre or hospital. A midwife attending a low risk home birth is a lot safer than a woman free birthing at home without any medical support. Give our midwives the option to keep give keep giving women options.

Without exception, all women should be able to choose how and where they birth and midwives should have access to PI insurance with ease in order to support those women achieve their wishes.

Women deserve choice. Without private midwives practicing safely there is a limited amount of choice.

Women should have a safe choice of where to birth. Having midwives with the highest standards is the right thing to do including indemnification, as is accorded doctors.
