Every women should be able to choose the way they birth. Whether at home, in a hospital or else where. It's should be how they wish and how it makes them feel more powerful, full filled and comfortable.

Why make it so difficult for midwives and mothers who want to give birth at home? The hospital system is overstretched. Why not save money and support home birth - make it readily available and don't restrict independent midwives from carrying out their wonderful work.

I had two magical homebirths using Private Midwives in Perth,WA and it is horrible to think these services could all be a memory one day as the Midwives just aren't allowed to do what they love & be covered to do so!

If midwives are not allowed PI people will be forced underground and do dangerous things for their home birth, eg free birth or use unqualified support people

I had the most beautiful empowered homebirth, with 2 amazing homebirth midwives. I wouls be very sad if this isn't available as a birthing option in Australia. :-(

Midwives who provide a service for home birthing mothers deserve to have indemnity insurance. Many more high risk professions are insured and midwives should be granted this.

Private midwives should be granted professional imdemnity insurance as they provide a small but vital service to women in the community. Choice is vital.

Private midwifery practice allows women the very personal choice of birthing in their own environment under the safety and supervision of a qualified medical professional. All women deserve the right to birth the way they want. Private practice midwives are incredible and it would be a major loss if they were no longer able to practice.

It is a woman's right to choose where she feels most comfortable to birth and midwives should be allowed to attend a woman at home without fear of retribution.

We are starting to lose the right to make decisions for ourselves. Slowly being controlled.
