All women should have the choice to birth at home with a qualified midwife. Our baby was born at home with an experienced and skilled midwife who supported us throughout the entire pregnancy.

In the UK home has been recognised as safer than hospital for giving birth in many cases and Independent Midwives facilitate homebirths as well as offering unparalleled individualised care throughout pregnancy and birth. As a UK woman who benefitted form having IMs care for me during my pregnancy and birth I urge you to find a solution to this for the sake of womens' choice and the wellbeing and safety of their babies.

Independent midwives provide choices that NHS providers cannot always offer. Women have the right to choose any registered practitioner to be with them during pregnancy and childbirth. Don't price independent midwives out of the market. provide them with a fair and affordable group insurance rate.

Giving birth has been a natural process since we began.Families should be together t share and support at this special the and great midwives can enhance this and our health system can have more funding for other areas which can't be dealt with at home.The bonds that are developed within a family as a result of sharing this should be realized.Please support our midwives and if we need medical assistance like I did with my 2nd son 7 weeks premi then we can work with the hospital and our midwife worked for me

For many women including myself homebirth is the best choice to ensure the right environment for a successful birth. My homebirth was straightforward and complication free unlike my anxiety ridden and difficult hospital birth. The care I received was by far more attentive at home. I would hate to know that women in this country would lose the choice to birth at home with qualified, competent carers.
