Petition to Allow Private Midwives to be Eligible for Professional Indemnity Insurance or to Be Exempt from Being Required to Enroll in PI

Access to private midwives is a right for all women.

Homebirth is highly important to the evolution of the human race.

Women should have the choice how and with whom they wish to give birth, if the process of life-giving is not to be turned over to a clinical technocracy.

I had my third child at home, it was the most wonderful experience. I had 6 months building a relationship with my midwife I felt safe and secure when it came to the delivery. Because of this the birth was so much easier. Please sign this petition don't let the government dictate our rights as women to choose how and where we give birth.

This is so important as woman have the right to choose how and where they give birth

2 hospital births, and 2 home births. Hospital was awful, at home amazing. I am now a midwife and recognize that home birth is not every woman's choice, but she should be able to have that choice.

In a so called civilised society this cannot be allowed to happen. Choice is an integral part of our society as well a necessity. It is just laziness on the part of the Australian government. Or perhaps is it just another example of governments telling us how we should live our lives.

Stop taking away our choices!

Please sign, the government keeps taking our rights away. We should have choice about where to have our children and the security of having a midwife present.

Women must have choice.

Out of three births our homebirth was the only one that went smoothly, my life was in danger in both hospital instances. Our homebirth was perfect and an experience we often look back on with pride and happiness. Enough said really.

Let people have the option and support to birth as they please

Women need to have the choice to birth at home with qualified health professionals on hand.

So glad a petition for this has started & I hope it causes the change that is so badly needed!!

There should always be a choice in a democratic society to allow mothers to be to have the most natural act of childbirth to be in their homes.

Let us have our babies how we choose...

Birthing is not an illness. Home birthing must save the government millions. I have had 3 home births. Take the time and look at how successful home birthing is in other countries.
